That's great that that worked for you. However, that didn't work for me. My old pny nvidia 6200 card was a pain to install on feisty fawn. The the new version came out and I updated. And I was back to square one every time. So when I swapped out my motherboard and processor (ASUS and Intel Dual core) I put in a pny 9400 nvidia card. And I cannot get Ubuntu to see it or even show anything under device drivers. How do I fix that?
You should upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) or download the linux driver from the nVidia website:

i'm using ubuntu server, i clone my ubuntu for another server. they have different network card, so my question is how to detect my new hardware using terminal, on fedora i know command "kudzu".. what command on ubuntu ?
Ubuntu should autodetect your new network card.
If it doesn't usually Google is your friend ;-)
